Montréal $ud - All Black Special Edition Bundle
Montréal $ud - All Black Special Edition Bundle
Initially launched on November 12th, 2013, Montréal $ud dropped like a ton of bricks on the Quebec hip-hop scene with a post-rap sound that left its mark on an entire generation. A complex vocabulary composed of joual, English and Creole, unconventional beats drawing from diverse genres such as electro and punk, five complementary and instantly recognizable MCs, a unique lexical universe and an ambitious concept with which suburban youth dreaming of urban hedonism can identify: all of these elements made Montréal $ud such a distinctive work that it still stands out ten years later. Out of print on vinyl for several years, Montréal $ud will be released in a special All Black edition to celebrate the conceptual epic of our six young Jé$us (rappers Greg Beaudin, 20Some, Yes*, Ogee Rodman, Joe Rocca and producer VNCE CARTER), tracing their exile from the $ud $ale to the big city and the realization of their hopes and fears along the way. This Quebec rap classic has aged like a fine wine, and it’s once again available in the format it deserves.
This bundle also features the Montréal $ud companion book. In these approximately 140 pages, you'll find a series of anecdotes relating to the creation and conceptualization of Montréal $ud, a lexicon demystifying the band's favorite expressions, such as Mississipin' or Keep it Très, and a host of footnotes detailing the various meanings and connotations of its lyrics.
