BIP is Magi Merlin’s latest single and the follow-up to her acclaimed 2022 EP Gone Girl. Its self-referential title evokes a cute, familiar sound that embodies the track's tone and texture. On this new song recorded alongside producer Funkywhat, the Montreal-based artist blends pop and house music, sprinkled with acoustic guitars and elements of hyperpop, creating a hooky playground where Magi's effortless vocals carry a strong message. 

More experimental than the songs off her previous EP, but just as soulful and assertive, BIP is a call to learn from our strengths and weaknesses, and to acquire self-confidence in coping with womanhood. It’s about a system that is unfair to women, women of color, and marginalized people, but ultimately to the vast majority of us all, explains Magi Merlin.
